Travelling by bicycle

2012: Bangkok - Chiang Mai
From Bangkok to Chiang Mai is a trip through the core area of Thailand. On my way north I pass historic cities like Ayutthaya, Sukhothai and Si Satchanalai. The wind usually blows from the south and that makes me get along well. But by midday the heat sometimes becomes unbearable so I usually look for a hotel room after 80 km.After 9 cycling days I arrive in Chiang Mai. I want to do one more ride: the rather tough climb to Doi Suthep, 1676 m above sea level. There is a beautiful temple with the similar name, the atmosphere is devout and the view of the city breathtaking.I also visit a few other tourist places before I travel back to Bangkok a few days later by sleep train.
